Fitment Factor Calculator

How the calculators work

The rules every calculator on this site follows, how each amount is rounded, and the government orders behind them.

Each calculator works out its answer in your browser, and the same rules run on our server so the page shows a right answer even before the calculator starts. Nothing you type is stored. With the page’s script on, nothing is sent either; without it, the “Work it out” button sends what you typed to our server so that it can show the answer, and we don’t keep it. All figures were checked against the records below on 28 October 2026.

New basic pay

Basic pay × fitment factor, rounded to the nearest rupee: the method of Rule 7 of the CCS (Revised Pay) Rules, 2016, which used 2.57. In 2016 the result was then set at the same or the next higher cell of the new pay matrix; no 8th CPC matrix exists yet, so the calculators show the multiplied figure. Factors from 1 to 5, with up to three decimals, are accepted.

Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief

House Rent Allowance

24%, 16% or 8% of basic pay in X, Y or Z places while DA is under 25%; 27%, 18% or 9% once it has crossed 25%; 30%, 20% or 10% once it has crossed 50%; never less than ₹5,400, ₹3,600 or ₹1,800 (order of 7 July 2017). The 30/20/10 rates have applied since DA reached 50% on 1 January 2024 (as the Delhi Development Authority’s circular of 19 July 2024 applies them). City classes are those of the order of 21 July 2015, with Mathura-Vrindavan added from 1 March 2020. HRA is rounded to the nearest rupee. After the change, the calculator restarts the same rule with DA at 0 unless you choose to keep today’s rate.

Transport Allowance

₹7,200 or ₹3,600 (Level 9 and above), ₹3,600 or ₹1,800 (Levels 3 to 8), ₹1,350 or ₹900 (Levels 1 and 2; ₹3,600 or ₹1,800 at pay of ₹24,200 or more), in the listed cities or elsewhere, plus DA on it (order of 7 July 2017; order of 2 August 2017). After the change, the same amounts with DA at 0.

Pension

Basic pension × factor, rounded up to the next rupee; the extra pension for age (20% from 80, 30% from 85, 40% from 90, 50% from 95, 100% from 100) on top; DR on both. This follows how pensions were revised by 2.57 in 2016 (order of 12 November 2020).

The pay matrix

Part A of the Schedule to the CCS (Revised Pay) Rules, 2016, as replaced by the Amendment Rules, 2017, read from the text of both Gazette notifications. We checked every cell: each is the one above it × 1.03, rounded to the nearest ₹100.

Percentages

Rises in per cent are rounded to one decimal place. All money is counted in whole paise, so the calculators and the pages always agree to the rupee.

What the calculators cannot know

The 8th Pay Commission’s factor, pay matrix, allowances, minimum pension and start date. Every “after” figure is arithmetic on a factor you choose, using today’s rules as described here. See what is decided and what is not.
